Dreaming Written on August 15, 2009, by Elizabeth.
One thing that Jim learned about me quickly is that I love to dream. I say things like “If you won a million dollars, what would you with it?” or “I wonder what it would be like if…” or “Do you think our kids will…”. I think it drives Jim nuts sometimes. He is very present day and I am very futuristic. These two mindsets can clash, but really they can balance each other out beautifully.
In addition to dreaming, I LOVE taking walks. It is a time when you have the other persons sole attention. You can hold hands or not. You can talk or not. You can just be together. I LOVE it.
One thing that Jim and I both love to dream about together is what our future home will look like. We aren’t even close to buying a house at this point, but we love to dream nonetheless. This is where two of my “loves” combine. It seems a few nights a week, we will set out on a walk after dinner with Charlie Dog and discover Evanston. We dream about one day owning that house or perhaps a house with that color with a better porch or perhaps THAT house with the shutters.
This isn’t new to us. We have done this since we were newly dating, but now that we are married and we have truly taken this journey as one…it is so much more fun and real to dream together. The world really is at our finger tips…and it feels like there is so much left to discover. I love it.
Happy Saturday, All.
